I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix 9 W$ y+ m0 T: V6 Q" K) x( c, @# }6 b# u& ^! m+ m# D
